Q: How do i redeem a Xbox Live membership code?
A: There are two ways to do this:
(1) Sign in to your Xbox Live account
(2) Press the Guide button on the controller
(3) Go to Games & Apps and select Redeem Code.
(4) Enter the 25 digit code and select Done.
(5) When prompted, click Yes to confirm.
Or
(1) Go to Xbox.com on your PC
(2) Sign in with your Microsoft account.
(3) go to the Redeem Code tab/page
(4) Enter the code and click Redeem Code.
Q: Whats the difference between Xbox Live gold & silver (Trial) memberships?
A:
(1) The Xbox Live silver (Trial) membership allows you to have most of the benefits of gold for a limited time. You will be able to download apps like youtube, Try out demos and play online games with friends worldwide (Some gold only demos and apps such as Fifa, Sky & Netflix wont be usable with a silver account). Whereas the Gold membership will allow you to use all of Xbox's apps, Games, Demos etc
(2) A gold membership can be redeemed on a account which hasn't yet run out of gold, and the amount (eg 1 month) will be added on to your current membership, or you can use the code on a account which has no gold (eg new account). A silver membership code can only be redeemed on a account which has no current membership.
Note: After redeeming a silver (Trial) Xbox membership, Your account will still appear as if it's got no current membership but you will have the benefits mentioned above.
